Indian GSM operators clock 7.62 mn subscriber additions in Nov

November saw GSM subscriber additions witness a marginal dip with 7.62 million additions as compared to 7.67 million added in October. The GSM subscriber base is now near 249 million as compared to about 241 million in October at a growth rate of 3.32 percent.

J&K circle registered the highest growth rate at 6.31 percent while Bihar followed at 5.12 percent growth.
Category-wise, Category ‘C’ witnessed highest growth at 4.28 percent while category ‘B’ Witnessed 3.08 percent growth and metros by 2.3 percent.
 
Bharti Airtel added 2.72 million subscribers and Vodafone Essar followed with 2.06 million additions. Idea Cellular added 1.2 million new customers and Spice Communications added 68,765 customers. State-run BSNL added around 0.67mn new customers during November.

On the CDMA front, RCom claimed to have 1.77 million subscribers though it is not clear if the GSM figures are also included in the figures claimed.
